A store owner on Reddit has the traffic and none of the sales.
The demand isn’t thin. It’s sitting in threads that open with a month of sessions and a conversion rate and get filed as a question about themes. Meadowrank reads them, so you don’t have to, scores the ones that are real, and drafts the reply in your voice. You send three. That’s the whole goal for the day.

Hazel last counted this meadow on .
Thirty were owners whose shop isn’t paying for itself. Fifty were the trade talking shop.
Each cell is one thread from the store-building and small-business rooms, gathered on the newest pass. Lit means the classifier found an owner with something to fix.

What e-commerce demand actually looks like on Reddit
An owner whose shop has stopped converting doesn’t post looking for a consultant. They post the dashboard. Sessions for the month, the rate, what the ads took, how long the store has been live, and then a question aimed at nobody in particular: what am I missing here. It reads like a support ticket written at midnight, and it’s the only time this trade gets handed a full set of somebody’s numbers before a single thing has been signed.
On the newest pass, sixteen of the thirty lit threads held a shop with the visitors and none of the orders: sessions holding steady, a rate stuck under one per cent, money going out on ads every day, and an owner pasting the entire dashboard into a post because the list of things left to try has run out. Nine skipped the diagnosis and asked for a person instead: who’s any good, what does work like this run, will anybody take a store turning over this little. Five sat earlier than that, weighing one more theme and one more month of evenings against paying somebody who does it for a living. Knowing which of those you’re answering is most of the job. A month of figures posted at midnight wants the leak named out loud. Somebody costing up their own weekends wants to hear what the work would be if they stopped doing it themselves.
The rest of the sample is the trade talking to itself: theme recommendations, app stacks, the dropshipping argument, and screenshots of somebody’s best day ever. At two-to-one, a question about themes and a shop losing money are the same length and the same tone, so the thirty worth a reply cost all 80 to open.
Where to find e-commerce clients on Reddit
Three kinds of room, and they’re nowhere near equal. The store-building rooms carry most of the conversation and most of it is sellers advising sellers, which is worth a daily pass for your name and rarely worth a contract. The general small-business rooms are where an owner writes about the shop as a business with money in it, and those are the posts with the figures attached. The third is the help room, where a checkout has broken mid-sale and somebody wants it working tonight, which is a paid hour rather than an engagement. The same owners describe it out loud under the tutorials in e-commerce and Shopify consultants on YouTube, and they ask for a name outright in e-commerce and Shopify consultants on Facebook.
The reply that lands reads their figures and names the step that leaks
An owner who’s posted sessions, a rate and an ad bill is asking two things they haven’t written down. The first is which step is losing the money, because from inside a shop you built yourself every step looks equally guilty. The second is whether any of it is worth fixing or whether the product was always the problem. Both answers fit in a comment. Take the figures at face value and say where a shop of that shape usually leaks, whether it’s a product page that never makes the case, a checkout asking for more than it needs, or traffic that was never going to buy anything. Reading somebody’s numbers in public looks like handing the work over for free, and almost nobody does it, which is why the owner who finally understands their own shop writes to whoever explained it.
What finding clients on Reddit actually costs you
Ten minutes and three replies, less than one call with a client who wants to talk about colors. Consultants still don’t do it, because every other hour in this job is attached to a shop that can be measured. A test ends in a number that went up. A month of answering strangers ends in nothing you can screenshot, so it loses to client work by the second week. Meadowrank gives it a number of its own. Each real ask waits under a short match-3 board. The cover clears, the card opens with the owner’s post, the figures they pasted and a reply already drafted the way you write to a store you’ve just taken on. On a day that’s all migrations, the feed lists the same signals for a little less XP, so the streak holds, the quests close and the hive keeps filling. The tally can’t be talked up either. Points only ever come from replies you actually sent. What the month adds up to is a record of owners you answered rather than tabs you left open.
Playing it costs nothing at all. The free hive is the whole game: the board, the list view, the streak, and five cards each morning out of a shared pool Hazel refills before the first order of the day lands. $35 a month, or $350 taken for the year, turns that pool into a Quarry of your own, so the scan follows the platforms you work on and the size of shop you’d rather be hired for.
How to find e-commerce clients on Reddit, in three steps
- 1
Read the rooms where owners post figures, and leave the theme threads alone
Pick one general small-business room and one store-building room, sort both by new, and give them ten minutes before the first client call of the day. A post worth opening has a number somewhere in it. On the newest pass, thirty of the 80 threads gathered from store-building and small-business rooms came from owners whose shop isn’t paying for itself.
- 2
Seed the thread with the leaking step, the order to fix it in and a band
Take what they posted and say which step is losing the money: a product page that never makes the case, a payment step asking for too much, or visitors who were never going to buy. Say what you’d change first and what you’d hold back until that one change has been measured on its own. Put a band on what a pass over the whole funnel runs. Four sentences, and every one of them can be checked against the figures they were staring at last night.
- 3
Capture the demand by keeping count
Three a day, written and sent and logged the way a test gets logged. Meadowrank keeps the log. An owner’s post arrives as a card with your reply already written into it. Points only ever come from replies you actually sent. Reading a thread on the way to a client call adds nothing at all. Put your address in the watch box below, and every Monday you get the week’s count for store work with the three asks that deserved an answer first, which is how a bad quarter across the platform reaches you before your own clients mention it.
One of them is under the cover. Clear it.
This is the game, at its smallest. A real e-commerce/Shopify consultants signal from Reddit sits under the cover, the same kind the honeycomb counts. Match three on the cover to strip a layer. The Monday email sends three of these; the board shows you one.
Short on time, or not in the mood to play today? The game also has a feed. It lists the same signals with the same drafted replies, for a little less XP. The board is the fun way in, not the only one.

E-commerce and Shopify consultants on Reddit: the practical questions
Won’t I get banned for self-promotion?
A pitch gets taken down fast in the store-building rooms, and fairly. What they never remove is somebody answering the question that was actually asked. Meadowrank drafts a reply that reads the owner’s figures and says what to change, and raises your own work only where a name has been asked for. A diagnosis nobody could have written without opening the post isn’t an ad.
How many signals should I expect per day?
Small numbers, clustering after a bad month across the platform. The newest pass counted 30 across 80 threads. Small, and the right size for this trade: answer three owners a day and by month end a few dozen merchants have watched you read a dashboard properly, which is how consultants here get hired.
Is this scraping Reddit?
No. Hazel types the queries a consultant would type into the public search box and reads what comes back. The same posts you could open yourself, minus the part where you open them.
What does it cost?
The game costs nothing and holds nothing back: the board, the list view, the streak and five cards dealt each morning out of the pool everyone draws from. $35 a month, or $350 for the year, opens a Quarry of your own, which points the scan at the platforms and shop sizes you want and lifts the daily ceiling with it.
How do e-commerce consultants get clients on Reddit?
By reading numbers out loud. The owner who hires you has already posted their sessions and their rate and asked what they’re missing, and the work goes to whoever answered that rather than recommending another app. Nothing in the sample turned into a client from a post about somebody’s own agency. Three readings a day, in the rooms where owners talk about the shop as a business.
Which subreddits are best for finding Shopify consulting clients?
Not the ones named after the platform, which are mostly other people who build shops for a living. The general small-business rooms are where an owner treats the store as a business and posts the figures to prove it, and that’s where the work sits. The store-building rooms are worth a daily pass for reputation and the occasional pricing question.
Is Reddit worth the time for finding e-commerce clients?
At ten minutes a day, yes, because one shop put right is worth more than a year of those minutes. At an hour of scrolling, no, and that’s the half nobody prints. The newest pass read 80 store threads and thirty of them held owners who might pay to have it fixed, which is an ordinary day here: three replies’ worth of demand, spread across rooms far too busy to watch by hand. The minutes only pay once the finding is already done. Like Hazel already does inside Meadowrank.
